Issues When Starting Up
Where did the CIS Control Panel
go? I can't access it, but the feedback window is open and
waiting and I can see the CIS Suite running on the Windows taskbar.
Sometimes the windows to control the CIS Suites are positioned off
of the viewable area, particularly after changing desktop resolutions or
monitor layout. The positions of the CIS windows and panels can be
reset to the top left of the primary screen.
Solution:
1) Left-click on the CIS icon by the clock in the system tray.
2) Select Help | Reset CIS windows positions

Firewall Blocking the CIS Suite
If a firewall is installed on the
computer, it may warn you that the CIS suites are trying to open
ports. Some firewalls immediately “freeze” any application
attempting to open a port until the user grants or configures the port
access. Sometimes the process of freezing
and then unfreezing a CIS Suite will cause it to crash or behave
erratically until it is restarted.
Solution - Grant Access and/or
Configure the Firewall
The firewall should allow you to grant the requested port
access. It may be necessary to configure the firewall to remember
allow the required port access without prompting for permission.
Refer to your firewall documentation for instructions on how to
configure the firewall.

"Protocol not supported" message.
The CIS Suite's network connection had problems initializing.
This could happen if a CIS Suite was quit and a new one started before
the port being used by the CIS had a chance to be fully closed by the
CIS Suite that was just quit.
Solution - Quit
the CIS Suite, and wait a few (3-5) seconds before trying to start a
CIS suite again.
